I tried a wedge salad at a restaurant for the first time last year.
I have never been a big fan if Bleu Cheese, but the blend of flavors on this simple salad... yum, Yum, YUM!
The nice thing is, this salad is easy to recreate at home, for a fraction of the cost. While it is nice to have some one make my food for me, it's not exactly practical to go to a restaurant every time I crave this salad;)
Ingredients
1 head Iceburg Lettuce-washed
up to a 1/4 cup Bleu Cheese Crumbles
3-4 strips Crispy Bacon- broke into pieces
1 Tablespoon Bleu Cheese Dressing
Directions
Take a long knife and cut a wedge of lettuce out of the head. Be sure to either remove the bottom core piece at some point.
Place the wedge upright if possible and top with the dressing.
Add you perfect amount of bleu cheese crumbles, then the bacon.
Grab a fork and knife, then Enjoy!
Other substitutions I have tried
Turkey Bacon
Diced Tomatoes
Thinly Sliced Red Onion
Thin Strips of Barbecue Chicken
I am sure there are other options out there, and I would love to try them:)
